How does PostHog SDK integration work? expand_more
HogInsight connects directly to your PostHog instance using your Personal API Key. The mobile client reads your existing PostHog data — dashboards, insights, events, feature flags, and recordings — with zero additional SDK setup required. Simply enter your API key and project ID to get started.
How do I create custom events and insights? expand_more
Insights are mirrored from your PostHog Cloud or Self-Hosted dashboard. Create them in the PostHog web app, and HogInsight automatically syncs your saved insights, cohorts, and feature flags in real-time. You can also build new insights directly in the app using the Insight Builder.
What security protocols protect my data? expand_more
HogInsight collects zero user data. All API requests go directly from your device to your PostHog server — no data passes through our servers. API keys are stored in hardware-backed iOS Keychain. All communication uses HTTPS with TLS 1.3. Optional PIN code and Face ID/Touch ID biometric lock provide additional app-level security.
Can I manage Feature Flags on the go? expand_more
Yes. View all feature flags with their active status and rollout percentages. Search and filter by key or name, toggle the "Active Only" filter, and drill into individual flag details. Emergency kill-switches can be executed instantly from your phone.
Does it support self-hosted PostHog instances? expand_more
Absolutely. During onboarding, choose between US Cloud (us.posthog.com), EU Cloud (eu.posthog.com), or enter your custom self-hosted PostHog server URL. The app validates connectivity before connecting, and supports switching between multiple project configurations.
How does the AI assistant work? expand_more
The AI assistant uses your configured LLM provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) with your own API key. It builds context from your PostHog data using HogQL (ClickHouse SQL dialect), translates natural language questions into optimized queries, and returns insights directly. Your data never leaves your PostHog instance — only query context is sent to the LLM.
